Delete your account in the app
You delete your account from any device where you are signed in, on any platform:
- Open Polymorph and go to Settings, then Account.
- At the bottom, choose Delete account…
- Read what happens, type DELETE to confirm, and choose Delete account.
The account is deleted on our servers and every device signed in to it is signed out. This cannot be undone. If you have a Premium subscription, the app tells you before you confirm; cancel it first if you do not want it to renew.
What is removed
Deleting your account disables access to it and starts removal of your account data and of stored content that nothing else still refers to. Your personal data on the server and on the device you delete from is removed, and you leave all your groups. Your contacts keep their chats, but you appear to them as "Removed user".
What can be kept
- Some account identifiers, lifecycle and acceptance information, shared relationships and records described in the Privacy Policy can remain; a disabled account record is not necessarily anonymous. We review these after 30 days and monthly after that for removal or minimisation.
- Copies held by other people, such as messages and files you sent them, cannot be deleted through your account.
- Spaces you own are not deleted with your account when they have other active members. They pass to a new owner after 30 days of ownership succession. If nobody can take over, the Space and its stored content are deleted after 30 days. Arrange access and copies before you delete your account.
- Device-local copies, recipient copies, active service data and backups have separate lifecycles. Database backups rotate out within about 30 days. Content you saved or exported outside Polymorph is not removed.
- Records needed for purchases and accounting, held by us, Link and Stripe, are kept as the law requires. They are not linked to your account.

If you can no longer sign in
If you lost every device and your recovery key, email info@polymorph.pm with your Polymorph handle and ask us to delete the account. We may ask for proportionate proof that the account is yours. Never send us your recovery key, account keys or other secrets. We normally answer within one month.
Signing out of a device is different: it removes the account's data from that device only, and your account stays.
