PolymorphDiscord alternative
Discord alternative
A private Discord alternative.
Polymorph Spaces give a club, a group, a team or a family their own place with channels, voice rooms and roles, much like a Discord server. The difference: everything in a Space is end-to-end encrypted, so only its members can read it. We can't.
What's in a Space.
Channels
Text channels with topics and categories, arranged by drag and drop. Private channels for chosen roles, badges or people, with their own keys. Let everyone post, or only admins and up.
Voice rooms
Rooms people drop into when they want to talk, without ringing anyone. Share your screen while you're there; the Space decides who may share.
Roles
Owner, admin, editor and viewer, plus badges you define. Roles decide who posts, who manages and who reads along.
Shared files
The Space's files in one place, with access by role. Files posted in channels are easy to find again.
Boards, logs and inventories
Task boards with due dates and assignees, logs for decisions and updates, and inventories that flag low stock. Turn on only what you need.
Templates
Start a Space from a template: Team, Community, Gaming guild, Family or Blank.
Private by design.
Channels, calls, tools and files in a Space are end-to-end encrypted. Only members hold the keys. We carry and store the encrypted data, but can't read it. Remove someone and they stop receiving anything new.
Signing up takes a handle and two keys, no phone number or email. A Space sits beside your chats but is kept apart from them, so your family chat stays where it is.
For clubs, groups, teams and families.
Clubs and communities
Announcements only admins post, a channel per topic and a voice room for the evening.
Gaming groups
Start from the Gaming guild template, drop into voice and share your screen.
Teams
Channels, a task board and the shared files, with roles for who manages and who reads along.
Families
A task board for who does what, the shared files and a channel per topic, apart from everyone's other chats.
What it costs.
Spaces are part of Premium. Each member of a Space has their own Premium, from €5.99 a month, tax included. Without Premium you can see a Space invitation and decline it. If your Premium ends, your Spaces stay readable but read-only.
Chats, groups and group calls stay free. Polymorph is in an invite-only beta for now, on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux.
